Mobile Testing
I am currently studying an MSc in Digital Solutions at London Metropolitan University specialising in eLearning. I am employed by City & Guilds as a Product and Project Manager within the
Eassessment and Pedagogy Team and I am responsible for developing new eassessment technologies. The project work
represented here is my interpretation of foundation automotive NVQ study entry tests, they are designed to fit
two scenarios; that of last year school (pre-course taster and orientation) transition tests and post 16 vocational
formative stage subject tests throughout BTEC and NVQ style qualifications. For ease of deployment I wanted to
develop contemporary functional mobile tests. Early prototypes were established from modified existing open source
code and these were then developed in conjunction with a formalised relationship with the mobile learning
software vendor Learnosity for Ipod and
smartphone apps. The ideas behind the MSc project have been fully supported by my tutors and my directorate
at City & Guilds: without the sponsorship of John Yates Product Development Director, Dr Vikki Smith Director
Assessment and Pedagogy, Fred Smith Programme Manager Eassessment and Pedagogy and Granville Edwards Eproduct
Specialist Eassessment and Pedagogy, things would have been a lot trickier. Other key help from interviewees and
reviewers are all referenced in the project dissertation
